My Aunt Dianne is currently in her second battle with Leukemia in six years.  As a survivor after her first battle she strove to lead a full life, take advantage of the time to be with her family, travel and raise money to support Leukemia research by doing several walks through "Team in Training." (Walks that I’m not so sure I could do!  LOL!)

Leukemia is a cancer of the blood.  She has a type called Acute Myelogenous Luekemia.  It is the result of acquired genetic damage to the DNA of a developing cell in the bone marrow. The effects are uncontrolled, exaggerated growth and accumulation of cells called "leukemic blasts," which 1) fail to function as normal blood cells and 2) block production of normal marrow cells, leading to a deficiency of red cells, of platelets, and of normal white cells in the blood.

In honor of my beautiful Aunt Dianne I’ve designed a new ring. It is part of my "Nobility" collection with purple amethysts set in goldfill. The picture of a strong and noble woman like Queen Esther.

$10 from the sale of each ring will be donated to the Leukemia Society.

I Love You Aunt Dianne!
